so with my new tank it has a sump and im loving it it just seems that the water is a little stagnet i was wondering what are some ways that you have used to help keep the water moving around so it dont look all nasty and doesnt have the film on top of the water

I used an air stone, but haven't needed it for a while. Not sure what caused the skin in the sump but whatever it was has stopped. Maybe it was from the wood, or coming off the bioballs. A small pump should work, just something to keep the surface moving around and keep it broken it up.

2 of the larger Koralia's (4 or bigger). One on each end of the tank.

Inside the sump you could put a couple airstones. That'd do it Wink

henry is your sump moving all the water out of the sump or pulling it more from the bottom? if so you might try to decrease the flow into the sump a little so you are get all the water though your filter you could also try to run the water though some filter floss or a filter sock you should not have any build up in the filter, if you have surface scum in the sump its not working right, you have overflows on the tank right?
