Lookin' good. IF I ever get enough tanks I'll have to get these guys - so similar to the C. sp. "Hara". Very Happy

He is coming along nicely! I have 3 pretty sure females, but no breeding yet!

Surprised I think they have a while to go yet, this particular collecting site has the largest size "Chilumba" type blue barred zebra's in the lake!
As most sizes are noted in Konings books at around 13-17 cm (6-7 inches) the Maisoni do grow a bit larger,,,larger fish take longer to mature,so I am in hopes that what you think are females,,,stay females!
Hope you add another picture when they get larger,,,they are an awesome mbuna!

Hop this helps!

Cheers,Larry

Thanks for the advice Larry!
I guess I will hang on to them a while longer, they ARE getting big! The best male is awesome! I sold or gave away two other males, and there were two smaller ones I kept that are in another tank, one is colored up nicely, but doesn't have the long trailing fins. The other I'm pretty sure is a male, but isn't coloring like the others did. I guess there is just natural variation at work here. If these guys get a lot bigger, that BIG tank will have to be coming sooner than I had planned, ha ha!
