D, none of my planted tanks have any special lighting or CO2 or anything, and the plants grow well.
I'm not sure of the exact names of some of them. I used Flourish, and Flourish Excel, and the subtrate tablets when I started them, but ran out and haven't used any lately, and most of the plants are doing well.j
I don't know the names of most of them, but i can try to look some of them up. BTW, Amazon Sword is not my favorite plant....

Diskus is nice! I had a 70 gallon diskus tank as a room divider years ago. Are you planing a bigger tank for them later on because 40 gallon is to small for fully grown diskus?

cool kid, are you sure those are tetras? i dont know my tetras very well but those fish look like some rasboras my wife had some years ago and you might ask the plant folks here but i think your going to need more plants to starve out the algae so it doesnt cover the plants and kill them, keep up the good work boy.

It's looking good. I like the wood and the plants. Are you planning on putting a background on it? I think it would make it look really nice.

They are roots from the little baby plants.
