Today is moving day, for my salt water fishes...

...from 12g to a 75g tank. The Nitrate cycle is complete and tested using the ammonia method. Water flow is good, filtration is good, lighting is good, and temp is now good. I lowered the temp in the 12g tank from 80 to 76 because the heaters in the 75g are the preset kind that hold at 75-76. I didn't need to because I still have to acclimate but I like to try and make everything as close as possible when I can, less stress on the fish.

Now I need a crap ton more live rock.

The wish-list of fish is ever growing, shrinking and changing but all of the creatures in the tank will be from the indio-Pacific area except for the peppermint shrimp and emerald crab.

Time to get a move on.

I don't know much about saltwater. I have heard they are very hard to keep. I hope all is well..

The move went great. I couldn't keep my hands out of the tank. As for the fish, I think they like it. They look good and normal but they have to learn how to deal with the current. In a 12g nano with a bio wheel filter, the water moves pretty slow. In a 75g with 2 MJ1200's, they can get blown around a bit. It funny how 12# of live rock will fill a 12g tank pretty well but look like a few bits of gravel in a 75g. In movig the sand from the 12g to the 75g, I have found a whole bunch of little critters that I had never seen before. I was expecting a few copepods but I also have a few real tiny snails and something that looks like a super small abalone. We shall see if and when they grow up.

The LFS just got in some bubble tip anemones on Saturday. I am going to let them sit there for a few days and then go pick out the best looking of the bunch. My maroon clown should love it.

I bought a few nice pieces of lace rock and will be doing some glueing today.
