Sexing mbuna (red zebras)

The female is on top
male on the bottom, he is a lighter color, and the head is wider, but some females have a big head also.


Here's the male, notice the lower half is lighter, actually has a blue tint to it, I have a female with the exact head shape.

The vent is pretty close to the same size as the anus, this is the most accurate way to tell.

and her vent, sorry the pic didn't come out as clear, it's dark and hard to focus. But you can see how the vent is at least twice the size of the anus.

Does this look like a female? I could never find an anus, so had to guess by the size of the vent.
