Julies back together -- again
My Julies have always been really sensitive to any disruptions in their nesting area. Even a water change would make one of the pair (the male, I think
) chase the other one away for a day or two, even if they were raising fry. I had to move some rocks around a while back and that broke them up for a long time, but I noticed the other day that the couple had reunited and were back to producing babies.
Here are a few recent pics.

When the dominant male chases others away from his side of the tank, he closes up his fins and looks like a torpedo speeding across the tank.

I had to move one of his offspring who was getting too large, into another tank to escape the aggression.

Very very nice!!! The julies looks great. I must get a Tanganyika setup soon. There are so meny cool species in that lake. Went and looked at a secondhand 106 gallon yesterday but it had way to many scratches on it.

The tank sounded in great condition over the phone. I don´t think he was expecting me to knock on his door. It was over 20 y.o. and full of scratches on both the front and back. I probably buy a new one instead of second-hand.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to keep fish in your bathtub again.
Thanks J and vman.

Nice fish! I was thinking about 'venturing to a different lake' while I was at a local big box pet store today for filters and such. They have Tangs there now... I'm not going to get fish there, but it did increase the urge for more!
