Strange filter

Hello all, i have 2 aquaclear 110 filters on my 110 gallon African tank. One has been up and running for 3 months, the other - 2 weeks. The older one, seems to have smaller bubbles come from it, and these bubbles seem to stay together on top of water. the other AC has large bubbles and they dont accumulate. Any thoughts?

The older one may have more gunk/stuff built up in it and the air escapes through smaller openings. The newer one probably hasn't accumulated enough of the bio-mass yet to interfere with the air bubbles.
Given some time they will probably even out.
