Need some advice on starting a Lake Malawi tank....

If your nitrates are high, you could do a water change now and then do another the day before adding the fish.

i have always been so amazed at what a simple water change can do.

nitrates were over 50ppm did a 50% change and now below 5ppm

tomorrow i go to pick up the fish. hopefully they got them in.

Where are you getting the fish from over your side of the water?

its called T and B aquatics.... its a friend of a co-worker. he had gotten me some datnoids a few years back so im gonna go check out his stock and if not have him order me what i want. i havent had a chance until tomorrow to even go look so im hoping he was able to get what i asked for .

Ive been in there before, thats the place near walmart at yorktown / kiln creek, I got a used tank there before, I usually stop in there when I get out off work at the kayak shop. He had a few cichlids in there last sat., he has a better selection of salt, but he always says he can get the fish you want.

yeah his selection of salt is better then his fresh.. i believe he started out with salt

there is a few places in richmond Im going to check out, one of them is called cichlid solutions and another one is skoolz of fish, I think skoolz deals more out of his house but looks like he has a pretty good selection.
