Don't know about treating catfish. I seem to recall that they don't tolerate meds as well as scaled fish. When you're at the fish store, read the labels and see if the medication is safe to use on your fish. Some of them might recommend a smaller dose.

You can also do a search and see if salt and raised temperature is tolerated by cats.
