a good pleco for a planted tank

whats a good pleco for a planted tank? i dont wannt spend more then like 20 bucks per fish and its a home of 4 cons 2 males 2 females.

I was over at a lady's house last week who had bristlenose in some of her planted tanks. The tanks were heavily planted and looked great.

The bristlenose will not hurt the plants, but the cons may hurt the bristlenose.....

The LDA33 snowball would be a nice size pleco. It grows up to 12". I would try to find one that is already 6" or longer if possible. Beautiful pleco. Here's a link with info about it.

Also the L200 green phantom pleco or lemon spot can grow up to 10". It is also a beautiful pleco and you can sometimes find one that is over 6" long too. Here's a link for info on it too.

There are several pleco's that are larger and would not be bothered by the cons as much. Hope this helped.

Yes it has thank you and the tank is a 45 gallon tank and the cons are only about 1 an a half long now would a 10 in pleco be ok in a 45?

No. I would not put a 10" pleco in a 45. If the cons are that small now, you would be ok putting these pleco's in at around 4". It would take many years for them to grow to a large size. I've never saw one over 6" long either. I put a 7" pleco in my 46 bf tank a couple of days ago and he's just to big! The cichlids in that tank beat up on my albino's so I thought I'd try something bigger. He's not bothering anyone, but he just looks to big for the tank.

ok i was gonna say lol and yea if i can find them at 2 inches id be happy cause cons still pretty small like im growing out a tiger shovle nose in there right now and he is about 2 and a half inches long and they dont mess with him

shovel nose will eat the cons 1st chance .

no he is doing fine hes been in there a week if i was worried he eat them i wouldent have him in there.
