Rocky background.
This guy have made a rocky 3D background from a foammattress. Great ide if it works in the long run. The whole background becomes a filter and also very cheap. After cutting it the way he wanted it he put tec7 on the surface. Mixed very fine sand and peat and throw it on.

Very impressive background and filter. I think the over-all impression would look better if he had smaller angular stone instead of the smooth river stone but, that's just me. It's sure to be a very nice looking tank when things begin to mature in.

Yes, I agree with you. I have never been a big fan of cobbles myself, but I´ve seen tanks were they do work beautifully.

Looks great. I have a couple of foam filter backgrounds that were store bought, but they don't look as nice as that one.
