LAMPROLOGUS ORNATIPINNIS KIGOMA

Post by momsfishn on Sat Nov 27, 2010 10:19 pm

i HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICTURES OF MY NEW SHELLIES. I have 7 . I call them "Orneys", because for the life of me I can't remember the full Scientific name. They are still a little scary. But they are getting better all the time. They are smaller than my full grown "Multies". But they should eventually get a little bigger than the "Multies".

Thank You! They seem very young yet. Smaller then my Multies. They have some very interesting traits. They have starting eating good now. So they should grow well now. Until they first spawn or are full grown, I fed my fish often, 4-5 times a day a variety of food(fresh, frozen and pellets). Then twice a day after that. sunny

Hi Guys! Just a little update on my "Orneys". They have spawned twice in the last month. The first time I only saw a few and they only lasted 4 days from the time I spotted them. So I did a big water change and stirred and cleaned the sand. Now they have babies again. I have been watching pretty close and I thought they were disappearing again, only seeing a couple the last few days. But last night I started seeing a whole lot more. They are pretty much free swimming now but they spend a lot of time on the bottom. And they are very hard to see on the pool filter sand, unless they move. I'm thinking that is probably a good thing. Pictures are almost impossible, but I will keep trying. sunny bounce

Awesome!!! Congrats on the spawn, shellies are hard enough to photograph, Shellie fry are quite the challenge. Keep trying tho cuz you know we want to see em Wink
