Amazing the things you can keep these days. Back in the early 70s we would have never thought to keep starfish or anemones.

thought this was cool, he was burying himself, so evenly that he left a small blank space dead center on his body, as he descended into the stand.

Interesting behavior as well

You know, I've never paid attention to the sand in saltwater tanks before. That is courser than I would have expected it to be. I have a couple of bags of some type of marine sand that were given to me and the stuff is so fine, it's like powder.

I really like that starfish and the fish in the background of the first picture is neat looking too.

i like the bigger grain sand for reef tanks.. its small enough for a sand sifting goby, but large enough to not be a "snow globe" with all the flow in the tank. and it vacs clean nicely as well.
